IRA KRAEMER was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1942. He graduated from the Mannes College of Music where he studied conducting with Pierre Monteux and composition with Peter Stearns and William Sydeman. Mr. Kraemer's works include a Concerto for Harp and String Orchestra, an electronic ballet, and a Sonata for Harpsichord and Viola, his instrument. The Petit Suite for Saxophone Quartet is dedicated to the Amherst Saxophone Quartet. Tonight's performance is the premiere.
