Formed in 1968, the Chicago Saxophone Quartet is a dynamic and virtuosic ensemble that has achieved a distinguished reputation for excellence in musical performance. Over the past thirty years, members of the Quartet have played for enthusiastic audiences in Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. Throughout its history, the Chicago Saxophone Quartet has undertaken a diverse array of performance opportunities.
The Clazzical Saxophone Quartet was formed in 1998 with the intention of performing serious and challenging music while exposing audiences to the diversity and elegance of the saxophone. The cross-over of classical and jazz styles and the sultry, rich expressions of the tenor, alto, soprano, and baritone saxophones creates a unique musical experience that will surprise and excite the listener.
Combining the diverse paths of two pairs of Saxophone players, Compass Quartet – Christina Leonard, Jeremy Rose, Matthew Ottignon, Luke Gilmour – form one of the most interesting and dynamic groups to emerge in Australia’s music scene. Inspired by the idea of breaking down barriers between classical music and improvised jazz, Compass takes an innovative and flexible approach to concert programming, combining influences as that are, distinct, new and unusual.
Copenhagen Saxophone Quartet is one of Denmark's most recognized ensembles in the field of classical chamber music. Since the debut in 1998, the quartet has toured Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Scandinavia, Austria, Croatia, the USA, Iceland, UK, Italy, and Poland, and has taken part in an official state visit to Slovenia with the Danish royal couple.
The Cosmos Saxophone Quartet was formed in 2004. The group’s repertoire includes a mix of jazz and classical arrangements and compositions by J.S Bach, Dave Brubeck, Charlie Parker, Samuel Barber, Phil Woods, Gordon Goodwin, Vince Rimbach, Ian Babb and Bob Mintzer.
Cul de Sax has been featured in numerous concerts and resorts in Maine, including Inn by the Sea, Sebasco Estates, the Spruce Point Inn, and The Balsams. It has played for audiences at the Portland Museum of Art, the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, and the Portland Conservatory of Music.
